Construyendo oraciones/Building sentences

Some English sentences are very basic: /Algunas oraciones en ingles son muy basicas.

Shakespeare was a writer. /Shakespeare fue un escritor
Einstein said something. / Einsten dijo algo.
The Inuit are a people. /Los Inuit son un pueblo.

You could write an entire essay using only simple sentences like these: /Podrias escribir un ensayo completo usando solamente oraciones simples como estas.

William Shakespeare was a writer. He wrote plays. It was the Elizabethan age. One play was Hamlet. It was a tragedy. Hamlet died. The court died too.

William Shakespeare ue un escritor. Escribio obras. Fue en la epoca de Elizabeth. Una de ellas fue Hamlet. Fue una tragedia. Hamlet murio. La corte tambien.

It is not likely, however, that your essay would receive a passing grade. You must learn to recognise different types of sentences and to use them effectively in your own writing.
